Natore: The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) in Natore, Gaibandha, and Rangpur, alongside a new divisional commissioner in Rajshahi. The Public Administration Ministry announced these appointments through two separate notifications on Wednesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, one notification confirmed the appointment of Md Yusuf Ali, a member (additional secretary) of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, as the new divisional commissioner of Rajshahi. In a separate notification, Sumoni Akter, Deputy Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, was appointed as the DC of Natore. Dr Md Moniruzzaman, who served as private secretary to the local government, rural development, and cooperatives minister, was appointed as the DC of Gaibandha.
Additionally, Israt Jahan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the DC of Rangpur. The previous DCs, including Natore's Asma Shahin, Gaibandha's Mohammad Masudur Rahman Molla, and Rangpur's Mohammad Ruhul Amin, have been withdrawn and attached to the Public Administration Ministry for future postings.
