Dhaka: The nationwide month-long 'Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025' continues with the goal of administering the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) free of charge to more than five crore children across the country. Under the campaign, vaccines are being administered to children from pre-primary to class nine at schools and community-level EPI centers until November 13.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, parents or guardians are required to complete an online registration process by submitting the child's birth registration details at vaxepi.gov.bd to receive the vaccine. The campaign has seen significant activity in various districts, with local government and health department officials inaugurating the programs.
In Rangamati, the campaign was launched with Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Md Mobarak Hossain inaugurating the vaccination drive at Rangamati Government High School. The district aims to vaccinate 1,54,749 children this year. Key figures such as Dr. Baby Tripura and Khokon Chakma attended the inauguration.
In Feni, the campaign was initiated by Deputy Director Golam Md. Baten at Feni Shishu Niketan Collectorate School, targeting 4,25,437 children. The vaccines are available from 8 am to 4 pm on working days until November 13. Officials such as Dr Mohammad Rubaiyat Bin Karim and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ismail Hossain were present.
In Lakshmipur, the drive was inaugurated by Md Jasim Uddin at District Collectorate School and College, aiming to vaccinate 6,29,978 children. Notable attendees included Dr Mohammad Abu Hasan Shahin and Samrat Khisa.
In Tangail, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque launched the program at Tangail Collectorate Girls High School, with plans to vaccinate 10,16,112 children across 4,403 institutions. The event was attended by officials such as Dr. Farazi Muhammad Mahbubul Alam Manju and Rebecca Sultana.
In Manikganj, the campaign targets 4,00,490 children and was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Dr Manwar Hossein Malla at the Manikganj Pourasabha area.
In Habiganj, Deputy Commissioner Dr Md Faridur Rahman initiated the program at Joynal Abedin Hall, aiming to vaccinate 4,50,501 children across 2,711 institutions and 1,905 centers. The event was presided over by Dr Ratnadwip Biswas.
In Naogaon, the campaign was launched by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal at Chak Enayet Model Government Primary School, with a target of vaccinating 6,75,795 children. The event was attended by Dr Aminul Islam and other local officials.
The campaign is also ongoing in other districts including Cumilla, Natore, Noakhali, and others, aiming to ensure widespread coverage and protection against typhoid among the young population.
