Dhaka: The 41st men’s and 18th women’s national senior weightlifting competition is set to commence tomorrow at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital. The four-day event promises to showcase some of the finest weightlifting talent from across the nation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 21 teams, comprising sixteen clubs and five services teams, will be participating in the competition. The Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation has organized this prestigious meet, which will see 130 athletes-66 men and 64 women-competing in sixteen weight categories, with eight categories each for men and women.
The event is expected to draw significant attention as it highlights the skills and dedication of the weightlifters who have been selected to represent their respective teams. This competition not only provides a platform for these athletes to display their prowess but also plays a crucial role in promoting weightlifting as a sport in the country.
