Manikganj: The National Road Safety Day 2025 was marked in Manikganj district with a focus on the theme “Use quality helmets and maintain safe speed – reduce loss of life and property”. A discussion event was organized at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, under the guidance of the Manikganj District Administration and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by Additional Deputy Magistrate Nazmul Hasan Khan and featured speeches from various officials. Among the speakers were BRTA Assistant Director Mahbub Kamal, Executive Engineer Roads and Highway Shahriar Alam, Principal of Manikganj Technical Training Center Nur Atayeb Ahmed, Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam Biswas, General Secretary Shahanur Islam, and Traffic Inspector Abdul Hamid.
BRTA Assistant Director Mahbub Kamal highlighted the compensation policy for road accident victims, stating that family members of a deceased victim could receive up to Taka 5 lakh if they apply to the BRTA office within 30 days of the incident. He noted that this information is not widely known among the public.
The speakers emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic laws and ensuring that driving licenses are issued following all required procedures, as key measures to enhance road safety.
