National Kabaddi Championship Kicks Off with Sixty-Four Districts Competing

Dhaka: The National Kabaddi (men’s and women’s) championship, aligned with the Festival of Youth 2025, is set to commence tomorrow with the participation of all sixty-four districts of the country.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the championship has been divided into eight zones, each encompassing eight districts. These zones are named after major rivers of the country: Padma, Teesta, Brahmaputra, Karnaphuli, Rupsha, Dhansiri, Surma, and Madhumati.



Each zone will host matches at designated venues. The Padma zone will compete in Bogura district, Teesta in Rangpur, Brahmaputra in Tangail, Karnaphuli in Cumilla, Rupsha in Jashore, Dhansiri in Barishal, Surma in Sylhet, and Madhumati in the Bangladesh National Kabaddi Academy located in Gopalganj.



Following the zonal stage, the victors from each zone will advance to the Inter-District Championship. The top four teams from the semifinals at this stage will join the services teams to compete in the National Championship.
