National Crime Agency, UK, delegation meets CTTC chief

A delegation of the national law enforcement

agency of the United Kingdom (UK), National Crime Agency (NCA) today paid a

courtesy call on Bangladesh’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime

(CTTC) Chief Md Masud Karim at his office here.

The meeting was held as part of continuation of the existing cooperation on

enhancement of capacity of drives against terrorism, said a police press

release.

The NCA, UK team expressed its desire to continue imparting the CTTC

personnel with specialized training to enhance their work efficiency to face

the terrorism and international crimes, the release said.

During the meeting, they also stressed for giving the CTTC personnel modern

training on cyber crime, transnational crime and money laundering.

Both the NCA, UK and NTTC have expressed their desire to continue mutual

cooperation to this end, the release added.

NCA is the UK’s lead agency against organised crime; human, weapon and drug

trafficking; cybercrime; and economic crime that goes across regional
and

international borders, but it can be tasked to investigate any crime.

While the CTTC has been entrusted with looking into cyber crime, cyber

patrolling, arms, ammunitions, explosives and narcotics, organized and

transnational crimes.
