Dhaka: A meeting of the National Consensus Commission members was held today at its office at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here. The meeting was attended by Commission Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Justice Emdadul Huq, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Badiul Alam Majumder, Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. M Aiyub Mia, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haidar, who is closely involved in the consensus-building process.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting discussed in detail the opinions received from various political parties on the draft of the July National Charter. Commission members analyzed how these views could be integrated into the final version of the charter. They also focused on finalizing the document with due consideration to the feedback received and on formulating the necessary legal and policy framework required for its implementation.
The meeting further explored potential options for the government to implement the charter effectively. On 16 August, the commission had sent the full draft of the “July National Charter 2025” to political parties for their opinion, and a total of 29 political parties submitted their feedback.
