Dhaka: Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, vice-chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has stated that the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming elections has been resolved following a national address by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. He emphasized that the speech has oriented all political parties towards electoral participation, and the nation, including administrative bodies, is actively preparing for the elections.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Azam Khan shared these remarks during his visit to Araipara village in Shakhipur Upazila, Tangail, where he also extended financial assistance to an auto driver injured in an accident. He expressed that the Chief Adviser's speech met national expectations and stressed that those involved in sabotage will be excluded from political participation.
Azam Khan conveyed that the public is against any further attempts to create unrest or conduct sabotage under the guise of a lockdown. Speaking to journalists, he highlighted the public's desire for politics that focuses on national development and the need for a democratic, elected government for the country's progress.
He further clarified that the upcoming elections will be inclusive of the political parties willing to participate, with the outcomes-both victories and defeats-decided by the electorate's votes.
