Narayanganj:The Narayanganj Zila Parishad has provided Taka 24 lakh in financial assistance to 240 puja mandaps in the district in preparation for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each mandap received a cheque for Taka 10,000. These cheques were distributed to the representatives of the mandaps during a ceremony at the Zila Parishad office on Sunday afternoon.
The event was graced by the presence of Zila Parishad administrator Mamun Mahmud, who attended as the chief guest and personally handed over the cheques to the mandap representatives. The programme was conducted by Zila Parishad executive officer Ramananda Pal.
Notable attendees included Central Committee Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Front Joy K Roy Chowdhury, Narayanganj district unit President of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Shankar Kumar Dey, and its General Secretary Shikhan Sarkar Shipon.
