Hatia: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam on Wednesday condemned the attack on the convoy of Noakhali-6 MP and party leader Abdul Hannan Masud in Hatia, Noakhali.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Nahid Islam, through a post on his verified Facebook page, alleged that activists of the BNP and Awami League were responsible for the attack. He stated that local BNP and rehabilitated Awami League activists jointly attacked Hannan Masud during his visit to Prakasam Bazar in Chanandi union. As a result, several NCP leaders and activists were reportedly injured.
The NCP chief expressed strong condemnation of the incident, describing it as a heinous attack on an elected member of parliament. Furthermore, he called for a thorough investigation into the event, highlighting the alleged inaction of law enforcement personnel present at the scene. Nahid emphasized the alarming nature of the failure to protect an elected MP, which raises concerns about the overall law and order situation in the country.
In addition, Nahid Islam demanded that every attack in Hatia since the election be investigated, and those involved be arrested.
