Manila: Nahar Khan, Executive Editor at United News of Bangladesh (UNB), has been invited to speak at Digital Media Asia (DMA), the Asia-Pacific’s largest regional news media industry event focusing on digital trends, revenue, and technology. DMA 2026, organized by the World Association of News Publishers, will take place in Manila, known for its blend of traditional markets, modern buildings, and colonial Spanish architecture.
According to United News of Bangladesh, this marks the first time Digital Media Asia will be held in the Philippines, scheduled for April 28-29. Nahar, the founder of Marana Media, a media advisory and content strategy firm, is set to address a session titled ‘How Gen Z is Using Tech for Change.’ The session explores how young people harness social media to shape narratives, promote movements, and amplify messages rapidly across regions from the Philippines to Peru.
Nahar Khan also serves as a Board Representative at AsiaNet, a consortium of newswire and PR agencies in the Asia-Pacific. Her experience spans digital-first reporting, crisis newsroom coordination, AI integration, and editorial governance, with a focus on enhancing credibility and newsroom strategy amidst technological advancements.
DMA, established in Singapore in 2009, has been pivotal in transforming the news media industry. The conference attracts top publishers, editors, and digital executives who share best practices and sustainable digital revenue models. It features two tracks, the Revenue Summit and the Technology Summit, presenting ideas for building sustainable news organizations.
