Dhaka: The government has appointed Muhammad Muhibbillahil Baqi as the Director General (Grade-1) of the Islamic Foundation on a contractual basis for one year. A notification signed by Md. Golam Rabbani, Deputy Secretary of the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, confirmed the appointment today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the appointment has been made under Sections 5(ka)(1) and (2) of the Islamic Foundation Act, 1975. The notification further states that he will hold the position for one year from the date of his joining.
Additionally, it was highlighted that before assuming the role, Baqi must resign from any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, or private organization.
