Rajshahi: Fast bowler Mukidul Islam Mugdho registered his second five-wicket haul in a row in the ongoing 27th National Cricket League (NCL) as Rangpur Division controlled the opening day’s proceedings against Rajshahi in the fifth round game at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium today. Mugdho ended with 5-42 to help Rangpur bowl Rajshahi out for 268 runs in the first innings. Rangpur thereafter reached 37 for no loss with Jahid Javed batting on 29 and Abdullah Al Mamun on 4.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abu Hasim took 2-42 to play a second fiddle to Mugdho in demolishing Rajshahi’s batting lineup. Captain Sabbir Hossain held together the Rajshahi innings with an 84-run knock amid Mugdho’s regular strikes. After his dismissal, No.8 batter Rahim Ahmed hit 77 to help the side propel past the 250-run mark.
