Sholakia: Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah has been reinstated as the Imam of Sholakia Eidgah. The decision was made by the Sholakia Eidgah Maidan Committee during a meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, as stated by Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ershad Mia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Saifullah previously served as the Imam of Sholakia Eidgah from 2004 to 2009. However, on September 2, 2009, he was removed from his position by the Deputy Commissioner, allegedly due to pressure from the ruling party at that time.
Following the fall of the Awami League regime, the outgoing Imam, Moulana Farid Uddin Masud, went into hiding after being accused in a murder case under Rampura Thana in Dhaka.
