Dhaka:The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has officially accepted the construction of civil and building works at the Depot of MRT Line-5, Northern Route, following successful pre-contract negotiations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Project Director Abdul Matin Chowdhury of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-5) issued the letter of acceptance on October 8, confirming the contract.
The total accepted contract amount is Tk 15.787 billion, which includes Tk 5.343 billion, Japanese Yen JPY 460 million, and US$82.493 million. The letter also requested the furnishing of performance security within 28 days, as stipulated in the pre-contract conditions and negotiations.
Furthermore, the DMTCL has asked for a breakdown of unit prices in the bill of quantities to be submitted in the agreed form and timeline as per the pre-contract negotiations. The contract specifies that the accepted amount does not cover VAT and income tax at source for the works in Bangladesh.
