Dhaka: BNP standing committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan emphasized the need for collective action to transform Bangladesh into a democratic nation where the right to vote is fully protected.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Moyeen Khan articulated his vision during a publication ceremony and discussion hosted by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan. He stressed that a country's politics cannot thrive without the integration of culture, education, and society. Dr. Moyeen called for collaborative efforts to establish human rights, voting rights, fundamental rights, and economic rights for the millions of impoverished citizens in Bangladesh.
Dr. Moyeen also pointed out that the people's accumulated anger came to a head during the events of July-August 2024. He remarked that the significant uprising on August 5 was not an isolated incident but the outcome of a long-standing struggle. He noted that roughly 43 political parties had been engaged in efforts to combat deprivation, facing numerous challenges such as attacks, fabricated cases, and torture in their pursuit of democracy.
Further, Dr. Moyeen acknowledged the substantial contributions of JASAS in supporting this nationalist movement, underscoring the organization's role in the ongoing fight for democratic rights in Bangladesh.
