Sylhet: Mount Adora Hospital and Noora Health Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a family caregiver health education programme. This initiative is aimed at improving patient health outcomes and supporting recovery after discharge.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the MoU was signed at the Noora Health office, officially launching the programme at Mount Adora Hospital in Sylhet. Under this agreement, nurses and healthcare providers will receive training to deliver structured health education to family caregivers within hospital wards.
The programme is designed to equip family members who care for patients at home with essential knowledge. This includes recognising danger signs, administering medication, managing wounds, and supporting patients' recovery post-discharge.
The initiative will be implemented across the hospital's inpatient wards and outpatient departments. It will consist of nurse-led education sessions, and distribution of printed and digital health education materials in Bengali. Additionally, phone-based follow-up support will be provided for discharged patients and their families.
Health experts at the MoU signing event emphasized that family caregiving education can significantly improve patient health outcomes, enable family members to better support recovery processes, and increase satisfaction with hospital services.
A press release revealed that Noora Health has equipped more than 6.5 crore family caregivers and patients across Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Nepal with training programmes since 2014.
