Motorcyclist killed in Chuadanga road crash

A 50-year old man was killed as his motorbike crashed into an electric pole in Darshana upazila of Chuadanga district on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Abu Siddique, a security guard of Carew and Company (Bangladesh) Ltd and a resident of the upazila.

Abdullah Al Mamun, son of the deceased, said his father was going to Kurulgachhi village from Shaympur on a motorcycle at around 11 pm.

He lost control over the motorbike near Puratan Bazar area around 11:30 pm and hit the electric pole.

Police later rescued him and took him to a hospital but he died there, he said.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Darshana Police Station AHM Lutful Kabir said that police rescued Siddique from the spot and took him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital after receiving a call from National Emergency Service 999 but he was declared dead at the hospital.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, he said
