Motorcyclist Killed and Another Injured in Manikganj Collision

Manikganj: A motorcyclist was killed and another rider seriously injured in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Manikganj-Hemayetpur regional road in Manikganj on Monday afternoon. The accident occurred in the Kitingchar area of the road, claiming the life of 18-year-old Md Kawsar Ahmed.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased, Md Kawsar Ahmed, was the son of Md Shahidul Islam Momen from the Athalia area in Singair upazila. The collision happened when a Singair-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw from Hemayetpur collided head-on with a Hemayetpur-bound motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.



The accident also left another motorcycle rider, Md Arafat, aged 18, seriously injured. Arafat, the son of Md Kohinur Biswas from the same area, was rescued by locals who rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.



Singair Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mazharul Islam stated that the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The OC also mentioned that legal action concerning the incident is underway.
