Habiganj: A woman and her son died after being electrocuted at Gayahari village under Nabiganj municipality of the district this morning. The deceased are Anima Chandra Dev, 70, wife of Durga Charan Dev of Gayahari village, and her son Nipesh Chandra Dev, 45.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Nabiganj Police Station Md. Kamal Hossain reported that Anima Chandra Dev came in contact with a live electric wire while taking a shower inside the bathroom. At that time, her son attempted to rescue her but was also electrocuted. The incident occurred around 11:30 am.
Family members promptly rescued the mother and son and took them to the Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex. However, the on-duty doctor declared both of them dead upon arrival, as stated by the OC.
