Bogura: A mother and daughter were brutally hacked to death in their home at Subgram village under Bogura Sadar upazila last night. The daughter, Sakhina Begum, aged 35, tragically died at the scene, while her mother, Anwara Begum, 58, succumbed to her injuries this morning during treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the bodies of the victims have been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, as confirmed by Inspector Moin Uddin of Bogura Sadar Police Station. The police and relatives disclosed that Sakhina was married to Rubel Hossain from Akashtara village in Sadar upazila seven years ago, but they separated about a month ago due to family disputes.

On Friday night, Rubel reportedly visited his ex-wife’s house, which led to an altercation. During the confrontation, Rubel allegedly stabbed Sakhina with a sharp weapon, resulting in her immediate death. Anwara Begum was also attacked and injured while trying to intervene.

Local residents, alerted by the commotion, rushed to rescue the victims and took them to the hospital. Authorities are actively pursuing the arrest of those involved in the incident.
