Mother and Daughter Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Bogura Road Accident

Bogura: A woman and her young daughter lost their lives when a pickup truck collided with their scooty at Adamdighi upazila in the district yesterday afternoon. The victims were identified as Nazira Akhter Mim, aged 27, who worked as a Quran teacher, and her two-year-old daughter, Nazifa Akhter.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nazira’s husband, Ramzan Ali Tota, who serves as an imam at a local mosque, was also on the scooty and sustained serious injuries in the accident. He is currently receiving medical treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. The family resided in Chhatni village under Shantahar Union Parishad within the same upazila.



Police and eyewitnesses reported that the tragic accident occurred at the Paikpara intersection. The pickup truck, which was carrying a load of silage, struck the scooty while attempting to make way for an auto-rickshaw. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of the mother and daughter. Upon receiving the information, the fire service and police arrived at the scene to rescue the injured man and transported him to the hospital.



Adamdighi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Mostafizur Rahman stated that the bodies of the deceased were returned to their family. He also mentioned that authorities seized the pickup truck along with two other vehicles from the accident site, although the driver of the pickup managed to escape. Legal actions are currently in progress concerning the incident.
