Dhaka: A meeting of the National Moon-Sighting Committee is scheduled to take place tomorrow to observe the crescent moon of the holy Rabiul Awal month of 1448 Hijri and determine the date of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting will be held at 7pm, following the Maghrib prayers, in the Baitul Mukarram meeting room of the Islamic Foundation. The meeting will be chaired by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain, also known as Kaikobad.
In a press release, the Islamic Foundation has urged individuals across Bangladesh to report any sightings of the crescent moon of Rabiul Awal. Sightings can be reported via the provided telephone and fax numbers, or by contacting the deputy commissioner of the respective district or the upazila nirbahi officer (UNO).
