Khulna: Khulna Development Authority (KDA) Chairman and Khulna city BNP President Advocate SM Shafikul Alam Mona emphasized the significant role customs agents around Mongla Port play in the nation's import-export trade. He highlighted this during the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of the Mongla Customs Agents Association, held at its headquarters located at C and F Tower on MA Bari Road in Sonadanga, Khulna city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mona expressed optimism that the new committee would advocate for the welfare of its members, safeguard their business interests, and enhance the efficiency of customs-related services. He urged for mutual cooperation, transparency, and professional skill development, noting that these are essential for the Mongla Customs Agents Association to evolve into a more robust and effective organization.
The event was presided over by Association President Md Mosharraf Hossain, with General Secretary Mahamudun Chowdhury Jony and Senior Vice-President Md Javed Hossain jointly conducting the proceedings. Special guests included Khulna District BNP Acting Member Secretary and District Council Administrator SM Monirul Hasan Bappy, Khulna Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled, Benapole Customs Agents Association President Shamsur Rahman, and former joint convener of Khulna city BNP Badrul Anam Khan.
The gathering was also attended by members of the election conducting committee and leaders of customs agents associations from various regions across the country.
