Antigua: Mominul Haque became the third Bangladeshi player to reach the milestone 10,000 runs club in first class cricket. His feat came during the course of his 50 runs knock in Bangladesh's first innings against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua yesterday. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tushar Imran was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to enter this prestigious club, ending his career with 11,972 runs after playing 307 first class matches, despite having only played in five Test matches. Naeem Islam was the second Bangladeshi to achieve this feat, amassing 10,624 runs in 278 matches, which included eight Test matches. Mominul Haque stands out as the only player among the trio to have played Test cricket on a regular basis. His 152 first class matches included 68 Tests, during which he scored 10,005 runs at an average of 39.50, with 29 centuries and 45 half-centuries to his name. In Test cricket alone, Mominul has accumulated 4,401 runs at an average of 38, including 13 centur ies and 20 half-centuries. His 13 Test centuries are the highest among Bangladeshi batters.
