Dhaka: Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas has stated that the organization is ready to fulfill its role in addressing any national requirements, including the forthcoming elections. Speaking at an event commemorating the 47th founding anniversary of the Mohila Dal in Tangail, she emphasized the organization’s past contributions and its commitment to future national endeavors.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Afroza Abbas highlighted the significant role played by Mohila Dal during the July Uprising and its steadfast support for the BNP and affiliated bodies, such as Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal, during last year’s street movement led by students and the public. She further mentioned that preparations are underway to welcome the Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman back to the country.
Addressing the topic of the upcoming elections, which are expected to be conducted under the Proportionate Representation (PR) system, Abbas criticized certain political parties for their perceived inconsistency. “They are now talking about the PR system, but this is nothing more than hypocrisy,” she remarked.
The event was chaired by Nilufa Yasmin, President of the district unit of Mohila Dal. Other notable attendees included BNP central vice chairman Ahmed Azam Khan, district BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shahin, General Secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal, District Unit General Secretary Advocate Roxy Mehdi, and Organizing Secretary Sultan Bilkis Lata, all of whom also addressed the gathering.
