Cumilla: League leader Mohammedan Sporting Club shared points with their arch-rival Abahani Limited Dhaka as their match concluded in a goalless draw at the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the match, both teams had several opportunities to score but were unable to find the back of the net, resulting in each team taking away a single point. Tensions rose when Mohammedan were reduced to ten men after Mohammad Mahbub Alam received a direct red card in the 42nd minute.
Despite the draw, Mohammedan Sporting Club maintained their position at the top of the league table with 31 points from 12 matches. Abahani Limited, currently in second place, accumulated 17 points from the same number of games. In their previous encounter during the first leg at the same venue, Mohammedan narrowly defeated Abahani by a single goal.
