A devastating fire that broke out at the
Shattola slum in the city's Mohakhali area early today has been doused within
less than three hours.
The fire broke out at the slum around 6:48 am.
A total of eight fire fighting units reached the spot immediately after
receiving the information, said Rozina Akhter, duty officer of Fire Service
Control room.
"The extent of loss caused by the fire remains under investigation," said the
official.
The fire fighting units brought the fire under control around 8:10 am and
doused the blaze around 9:38 am.
No death or injuries have been reported, so far, in the fire, she added.
