Daudkandi: Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited (BGDCL), in a drive, has permanently disconnected a total of 79 illegal burners along with dismantling seven risers. The BGDCL Area Distribution Office, Gauripur conducted a mobile court yesterday at Daudkandi in Cumilla to disconnect illegal gas connections, said a PID release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, besides the disconnection of illegal burners, two residential gas connections being misused for commercial purposes and another two for using additional burners without approval were disconnected. During the operation, approximately 100 feet of MS pipe and 10 regulators were seized from illegal connections.
For the illegal gas connections and their use, fines were imposed on four individuals amounting to Taka 10,000 each, and two others were fined Taka 50,000 each, totaling Taka 1.40 lakh, which was realized on the spot, it added.
