Bhojpur: The Salpasilichho rural municipality located in the northern belt of Bhojpur district has provided public services by conducting ‘integrated mobile camps’.

The camps were organized to provide services at people’s doorstep in the remote areas.

The integrated mobile camps were held at five wards under the campaign of ‘local government at doorstep’, according to chief administrative officer, Madhav Kumar Adhikari.

Vital registration, distribution of identity cards of disabled and senior citizens, banking and health services, agricultural and livestock services were managed by the mobile camps. Even the contracts for ward level projects were signed during the camps.

Adhikari further informed that some of the places in the rural municipality are quite distant. It is difficult to reach the people who are living in far-flung areas. Similarly, people face hardship to access service delivery from government agencies.

The mobile camps were organized at Kulung for ward no 1 and 2, at Khatamma for ward no 4
, at Dovan for ward no 6 and at Ratmate for ward no 5.

A local Kaji Tamang informed that they were elated to receive services from mobile camp, as it saved their time and money. “It takes time for us to reach rural municipality centre. Similarly, as much as Rs 5,000 is spent to manage food and lodges during travel to centre and home return. So, such camps are huge relief to us,” he observed.

Similarly, Lekhnath Giri from Salewa viewed that both time and money were saved with the facilities available at mobile camps. “We had to make difficult journey to rural municipality centre for minor work. I got the ‘disabled citizen ID card’ at home,” he added.

It takes three days for Salewa people to reach the centre.
