MIST holds ‘1st National Research Conclave’ to foster research culture in Bangladesh

Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) today organized a national conference tilled ‘1st National Research Conclave’ to foster a research culture in Bangladesh, encourage young researchers and provide a common platform for researchers and students.

The Engineering Department of MIST, a public engineering university in Bangladesh, organized the conference at its conference room here, said a release of the Inter-services of Public Relations (ISPR) this evening.

A good number of faculty members and students of nine universities-Dhaka University, BUET, RUET, KUET, AUST, IUT, BUP, AIUB, and Sonargaon University-took part in the daylong conference.

The conclave also aims to provide a platform for emerging researchers and scientists to share ideas and experiences, focusing on practical issues in mechanical, manufacturing, aeronautical, naval and energy engineering, as well as recent innovations, the release mentioned.

In the conference, a total of 24 oral presentations and 11 poster presentations we
re conducted to the audience. The conference showcased 22 research papers and 11 research posters, a first for the national level in Bangladesh.

Awards for the best research paper and poster were presented based on judges’ evaluation.
