Dhaka: Prof. Mohammad Jahsim Uddin, the Chief Election Commissioner of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), expressed concerns over misinformation being spread about the DUCSU elections.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, certain online activists and social media groups are allegedly disseminating false information regarding the DUCSU and Hall Union elections. A press release signed by the DUCSU CEC emphasized that these actions are misleading both the public and students.

Prof. Uddin expressed gratitude to all parties involved for the successful conduct of the 2025 DUCSU and Hall Union elections, which took place on September 9. The event was noted for its joyful and fair atmosphere, receiving widespread acclaim as a free, fair, and credible process. Many observers regarded it as a significant milestone in the country’s electoral history.

The CEC acknowledged that while the election commission received complaints about isolated incidents, the overall process was largely free, fair, and participatory. He emphasized that the spread of misinformation is detrimental to the university’s reputation and urged everyone to rely on verified information. Prof. Jashim called for vigilance against unverified claims and encouraged trust in credible sources.
