Dhaka: Prime Minister's Political Adviser and BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas is returning home tonight after undergoing treatment in Singapore and Malaysia for over five months. A flight carrying him is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 9:00 pm.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Mirza Abbas is now considerably better and is returning home on the advice of his medical board. BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed that the leader's health has improved significantly following his overseas medical treatment.
The BNP leader's health concerns began when he suddenly lost consciousness while taking Iftar on March 11. He was promptly admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka later that night. After undergoing a brain surgery at the hospital, Mirza Abbas was transported to Singapore by air ambulance on March 15. Following the treatment he received there, he was further taken to Malaysia for physiotherapy.
Mirza Abbas, who was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th parliamentary elections, has been a significant figure in Bangladesh's political landscape. His return marks a significant moment for his supporters and party members awaiting his recovery and re-entry into active political life.
