Rajshahi:Land Minister Mijanur Rahman Minu has unveiled five reinstalled foundation stone plaques commemorating three key development projects implemented by the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) during his tenure as mayor. The ceremony took place this afternoon at the City Haat premises, with RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton presiding over the event.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the three projects include a road construction initiative inaugurated by then BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman, who is now the Prime Minister, and a drainage project initiated by former finance minister M. Saifur Rahman. These projects were originally started during Minu's term as mayor.

On February 9, 2005, Tarique Rahman laid the foundation stone for a road construction project that connects Fire Brigade Crossing to the Chapainawabganj-Natore Highway at Uttar Naodapara in Rajshahi city. The plaques for this project were installed at Ghoshpara Mor, Medical Bondh Gate Mor, and City Haat-Uttar Naodapara Mor.

On the same day, former finance minister M. Saifur Rahman initiated a project to construct drainage systems to address waterlogging at Gourhanga Railgate Mor. Additionally, on October 15, 2004, Minu laid the foundation for a project aimed at widening intersections and improving the city's appearance, also at Gourhanga Railgate Mor.

The report indicates that these five plaques were removed during the ousted government's tenure. Their reinstallation now restores the historical record of these significant development projects.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Rajshahi lawmaker Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha, and Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP President Mamun-or Rashid. RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum, along with other officials and engineers, were also present at the event.
