Dhaka: Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu has emphasized the necessity of sustaining joint partnerships with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other international development collaborators to modernize Bangladesh's land management system, introduce one-stop services, and ensure transparency. This statement was made during a courtesy visit by UNDP Resident Representative Stephen Rodriques at the Minister's Secretariat office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, Senior Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed, and senior UNDP officials were also present at the meeting. Minu highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation and institutional investment in advanced technological support, training, and research within the land management sector. He elaborated on several plans for digitalizing land management in Bangladesh, noting that such digitalization efforts represent a significant achievement for the country.

Minu stated that the digitalization of land services empowers citizens and enhances transparency in government initiatives by significantly reducing the influence of middlemen. Meanwhile, the UNDP resident representative expressed his intention to collaborate closely with the Bangladesh government, development partners, civil society, the private sector, and local communities. His aim is to accelerate inclusive development, strengthen disaster resilience, and advance progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Stephen Rodriques conveyed his commitment to working alongside the Bangladesh government and its people, along with development partners, to sustain previous achievements. He emphasized the importance of developing new, sustainable, and inclusive solutions that directly benefit the people of Bangladesh.
