Rajshahi: Mizanur Rahman Minu, candidate for Rajshahi-2 (Sadar) and a BNP leader, expressed his belief that the outcome of elections hinges on the will of Almighty Allah. He articulated his hope for a decisive victory for BNP candidates across all 39 constituencies in the Rajshahi Division, anticipating that BNP chairman Tarique Rahman will ascend to the position of Prime Minister.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minu conveyed these sentiments to journalists after casting his vote at the Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute polling center. He emphasized his optimism that the BNP candidates, symbolized by the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’, would triumph in every parliamentary constituency within the division.
Minu elaborated on his vision for Tarique Rahman, suggesting that he would act as a servant of the people rather than a ruler. He drew a parallel to the late President Ziaur Rahman, who was known for his dedication to the welfare of the country, and expressed confidence that Tarique Rahman would similarly serve the populace.
The BNP leader was pleased with the voting environment, describing it as peaceful. He criticized past electoral practices where votes cast during the day were allegedly manipulated by night, leading to unrepresentative governance. Minu expressed hope for genuine representation of the people’s will in the current election.
Highlighting the public’s desire for peace and employment, Minu promised that a BNP-led government would focus on creating substantial employment opportunities, particularly in Rajshahi. He was accompanied by BNP Central Committee’s Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary and former city mayor Mohammad Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, along with other party leaders and activists.
