Chandpur: A minor girl was tragically killed in a road accident this morning on the Hajiganj-Ramganj road in front of Jianagar Oni-Roni Bricks under Hajiganj upazila. The victim, Mim Akter, aged 8, was the daughter of Iman Hossain from Borokul Purba Union in the same upazila. She attended a local madrasa as a third-grade student.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred when Mim, who was standing beside the road with her grandmother, suddenly broke free from her grandmother’s grasp. In a matter of moments, she dashed across the road, only to be hit by a cement-laden truck traveling toward Ramganj in Lakshmipur, resulting in her death on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge Abdul Mannan of Hajiganj Police Station confirmed that the police have seized the truck involved in the accident. Legal proceedings are currently underway to address the unfortunate incident.
