Ministry Updates List on Changing Titles of Establishments

Dhaka: The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has updated the list of changes to the titles of institutions, establishments, and projects that were previously named after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members, and others.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the updated list includes several significant changes. Sheikh Hasina Sarani, located at Kuril Link Road in Dhaka, has been renamed “July 36 Expressway.” In Chattogram, the Mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury CDA Flyover has been renamed “Shaheed Wasim Akram Flyover.” Additionally, Bangabandhu Square in Rajshahi has been renamed “RDA Complex,” and Shaheed Captain Monsur Ali Park is now “RDA Park.”



The changes extend to key infrastructure such as the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), which has been renamed “Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center.” In Chattogram, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Road has been renamed “Professor Dr Abdul Karim Road.” This information was disseminated through a circular signed by Deputy Secretary Kazi Md. Sayemuzzaman of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
