Ministry opens control rooms to monitor social activities in Puja mandaps

The social welfare ministry has set up control

rooms in each district and division along with a central one in the capital

to supervise and monitor the social activities being carried out by the

officials under the ministry in Puja mandaps across the country.

“A total of 84 thousand people of both the women and child ministry and

social welfare ministry have been performing social responsibilities

countrywide in Puja mandaps while the monitoring reports are being submitted

to the control rooms,” said a press release.

Among the employees, 11,128 skilled and trained officials from 1,089 offices

of the social welfare ministry have been performing their responsibilities

sincerely.

Besides the ministry’s division and district level officials, 70 thousand

voluntary organisations have been working spontaneously in the countrywide

Puja mandaps.

From October 4, the officials and employees of social welfare officials have

been performing social duties as volunteers in the Puja mandaps country
wide

which will continue until October 13, the release added.

Each official is performing duties per day for eight hours as roster based

duty assigned for the employees following ministry directives to ensure 24/7

duties in the puja mandap scrapping the holidays.

The officials and employees of National Foundation for Development of the

Disabled Persons, Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council, Sheikh Zayed

Bin Sultan Al Nahiyan Trust, Physically Disabled Protection Trust, Neuro-

Developmental Disabilities Protection Trust and Bangladesh Rehabilitation

Council have also been performing social activities across the country.
