Accra:The Ministry of Youth and Sports has established a five-member committee to investigate the leak of question papers, which led to the cancellation of the recruitment examination for Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer positions under the Department of Youth Development.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the ministry cancelled the exam after discovering that the question papers for the recruitment test, originally scheduled for October 10, had been circulated on social media. This prompted the formation of the investigation committee as per an office order issued on Saturday.

The investigation committee is led by an additional secretary from the ministry's Administration Wing. It includes a joint secretary from the ministry's Finance and Performance Management Wing, a representative of the rank of joint secretary from the Ministry of Public Administration, and the director of Seed Financing at the Department of Youth Development. A deputy secretary from the Administration Wing is serving as the member-secretary.

The committee's responsibilities involve recording statements from the recruitment committee members, and those involved in the preparation, printing, and distribution of the exam papers, as well as any internal and external accomplices. It will also assess the circumstances surrounding the leak of the question papers.

The committee has been directed to submit its findings to the ministry within three working days.
