Dhaka: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced plans to honor the families of martyred journalists by hosting a reception, along with providing donations and gifts, as part of the observance of the July Mass Upsurge anniversary.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these plans were formulated during a recent meeting at the ministry, chaired by Secretary Mahbuba Farzana. An official release detailed that the observance will also feature the premiere of the film ‘Shrabon Bidroho,’ produced in memory of the July Mass Uprising, which will be screened at the National Museum on July 5. The film will also be shown simultaneously across the country and in foreign missions of Bangladesh.

In addition to the film screening, various films and documentaries on the July Uprising will be showcased at the Mass Communication Directorate, Bangladesh Film Archive, and four universities in the capital. An international seminar is also scheduled to take place in conjunction with the anniversary celebrations.

To further commemorate the occasion, special features, articles, and supplements will be published in national newspapers from July 5 to August 5. Banners, billboards, photo cards, posters, and festoons highlighting the significance of the July Uprising will be distributed nationwide. Additionally, a publication ceremony featuring photos and graffiti will be held.

A colorful rally involving officials from the ministry and its associated directorates, departments, and agencies will take place in the capital. The observance will also include Quran Khwani, Doa Mahfil, and discussions to honor the legacy of the July Uprising.
