Dhaka: The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment has launched a dedicated helpdesk and hotline aimed at assisting workers bound for the Middle East who are facing challenges due to flight cancellations and expired visas.
According to United News of Bangladesh, this initiative was implemented under the directive of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, as detailed in a handout from the Press Information Department (PID). The ministry has urged affected migrant workers to utilize the toll-free hotline 16135, which is available around the clock to provide information and assistance concerning flight disruptions and visa-related issues.
The ministry further stated that all flights to destinations in the Middle East are currently suspended as a result of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, creating significant uncertainty for workers planning to travel abroad.
