Dhaka: Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today emphasized the necessity of strengthening coordination with international development partners to enhance the quality of Bangladesh’s education system and modernize its infrastructure. He made these remarks during a meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Bangladesh Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong at the Ministry of Education.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting involved detailed discussions on enhancing ongoing and future cooperation in Bangladesh’s education sector. The conversation particularly focused on improving the quality of education, developing human resources, expanding digital education, and building a technology-based education system.
In addition to the development of secondary education, the meeting explored the possibility of increasing ADB’s support for strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and enhancing research and technological capacity in higher education. ADB has been significantly contributing to the development of Bangladesh’s education sector, and the meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing projects supported by the development partner.
Highlighting various priority initiatives of the government in the education sector, Minister Milon expressed gratitude to ADB for its continued support. ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong assured continued cooperation in the development of Bangladesh’s education sector and showed interest in supporting the government’s development initiatives.
Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Abdul Khaleque, senior officials from the Ministry, and ADB representatives were present at the meeting.
