Milestone Tragedy: One More Student Released from Burn Institute

Dhaka: The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) today released one more student who suffered burn injuries in the fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara. A 14-year-old student named Rohan was discharged as his health conditions improved, stated NIBPS Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rohan had suffered 40 percent burn injuries in the crash. With his release, a total of 26 burn victims from the crash have been discharged from the institute, while 10 others continue to receive treatment.



The tragic incident occurred on July 21 when a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed into a two-storey building of Milestone School and College shortly after take-off, at around 1 pm. The crash resulted in the deaths of 35 people, including the pilot, as confirmed by Health Ministry officials.
