Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country. "Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Maulvibazar, Khulna, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue," said a BMD bulletin issued this morning commencing 9am.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, rain and thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 38.3 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi district in Rajshahi division, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 19.005 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat under Rangpur district. The sun is set to set today at 06.26pm and rise at 05.27am tomorrow in the capital.
