Dhaka: A mild heat wave is currently affecting six districts in Bangladesh, including Sirajganj, Maulvibazar, Rangamati, Feni, Chattogram, and Patuakhali. It is anticipated that the heat wave may subside in some areas.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) announced this morning that there might be a slight decrease in day and night temperatures across the country. Additionally, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are expected in several divisions, including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet. There is also a possibility of showers in one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.
Furthermore, the Met office reported that a well-marked low over the Southwest Bay and adjoining West-central Bay has moved northwards. It has weakened into a low-pressure area and is now located over the West-central Bay and adjoining areas as of this morning. The low-pressure area is expected to move north-northeastwards and continue to weaken over the next 24 hours. A trough of low pressure is also present over West Bengal and adjoining areas.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded was 37.0 degrees Celsius at both Srimangal in Sylhet and Feni of Chattogram Divisions. Today, the minimum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia under Rangpur Division. In Dhaka, sunset is expected at 06:18 pm today, while sunrise tomorrow is anticipated at 05:41 am.
