Colombo: Pacer Milan Rathnayake was ruled out due to a left side strain as Sri Lanka named an 18-member squad for the second and final cricket Test against Bangladesh today. The two-match series deciding game starts on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rathnayake gave Bangladesh a difficult time in the first innings with some effective reverse swing. He played a crucial role in preventing Bangladesh from reaching a 500 plus total. The Test concluded in a draw.
The squad Sri Lanka Cricket announced through a press release today was similar to the first Test with the only exception being Angelo Matthews, who retired from the format following the first Test in Galle. The squad includes players such as Pathum Nissanka, Oshada Fernando, and Dhananjaya De Silva as captain, among others.
