Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar today emphasized the necessity of unity among political parties despite differences in views, stressing that this unity is crucial for the national interest. He urged that the journey towards the upcoming national elections should continue collaboratively, keeping the spirit of cooperation alive.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Parwar made these comments while speaking at a ceremony celebrating the 4th founding anniversary of the Gana Adhikar Parishad at the Diploma Engineers Institute in the capital. He highlighted the challenges faced in forming a new Bangladesh free from fascism, underscoring the importance of collective effort.

In his address, Parwar congratulated the Gana Adhikar Parishad for its establishment through the struggle for basic human rights. He mentioned the severe torture experienced by Nurul Haque Nur, a leader from Dhaka University, under the previous fascist regime as a rare occurrence in history.

Parwar articulated his vision for a new and humane Bangladesh, where political parties and journalists can freely express their views in a democratic environment.
