Sylhet: Aminul Islam Biplob's crucial innings of 82 runs helped Dhaka Metro recover from an early collapse to establish a 175-run lead against Dhaka Division in their fourth-round game of the National Cricket League (NCL) at Sylhet Academy Ground today. The day's play concluded with Metro at 186-6, following a precarious start where they were reduced to 83-5. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Biplob's performance was pivotal as he formed a 101-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Naim Sheikh, who contributed 48 runs to stabilize the innings. This partnership was instrumental in rescuing the team from a difficult position. Dhaka Division, however, managed to make a comeback towards the end of the day by claiming the wicket of Biplob. At stumps, Gazi Tahjibul Islam was still at the crease with 31 runs, accompanied by Abu Haider Rony on 2. Earlier in the day, Dhaka Division resumed their innings at 254-6 and were eventually bowled out for 315, with Shuvagata Hom top-scoring with 83 runs. This gav e Dhaka Division a narrow first innings lead of 11 runs, as Dhaka Metro had previously been bowled out for 304.
