Dhaka: There is a possibility of rain across the country on Eid day likely to be celebrated on March 21. "There may be temporary gusty or stormy winds and lightning accompanied by rain or thunder in some places in the country on March 20, 21, and 22," Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana told BSS this evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shahnaz Sultana mentioned that rain or thundershowers with gusty or stormy winds and lightning could occur in some parts of the country over the next three days. The rain, however, is expected to be intermittent rather than continuous as seen during the monsoon season.
The meteorologist further quoted the weather forecast, indicating that gusty or stormy winds and lightning accompanied by rain or thunder are likely in some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, one or two places in Khulna and Barishal divisions might experience similar weather conditions.
Throughout this period, fluctuations in day and night temperatures are anticipated. Meanwhile, the weather forecast for inland river ports across the country until 1 am today predicted rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds, reaching speeds of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour from the west-northwest over regions including Rajshahi, Pabna, Kushtia, Jashore, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Cumilla, and Sylhet.
Consequently, river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist the naval warning signal number 2.
